The App Drivers & Couriers Union (ADCU) is organising a day of action outside Wayve’s London headquarters on Saturday 17 October 2026, opposing the development and rollout of driverless services linked to Wayve and Uber.
The union is inviting drivers, members, families and supporters to attend. Its campaign focuses on the effect of automation on drivers’ jobs and incomes, alongside concerns about public safety and accountability.
When and where
- Date: Saturday 17 October 2026
- Time: 11am–1pm
- Venue: Wayve Technologies Ltd, 230–238 York Way, London, N7 9AG
What ADCU is asking for
ADCU wants autonomous vehicle trials paused while stronger protections are put in place. Its demands include a transition plan for drivers, independent oversight of testing, greater openness about safety incidents and clear responsibility when accidents occur.
The organisers say technological change should support workers rather than leave them carrying the costs. They are encouraging drivers to share the announcement with colleagues and help draw attention to their concerns.
Drivers planning to attend can check the official ADCU event page for any updates before travelling.
